Dr. Anastasia Maximova "Anya" Karatsuba PhD is a locally renown scientist in the greater New Auburn area. During the day, she's a science teacher at East New Auburn High School, but at night, she's a mad scientist always working on crazy experiments. Said experiments vary in nature, but are always intended to benefit humanity in some way.
History
Dr. Karatsuba was born in the Slavic District in New Auburn. As a very young child, she showed signs of extreme intelligence, learning how to walk at 7 months and being fully fluent in English at 1 year old. She started Kindergarten at age 3, and quickly skipped grades all through-out her childhood, graduating from East New Auburn High at age 12, making her the youngest graduate in New Auburn School District history. She quickly blasted through college, earning a double bachelors in physics and chemistry from Princeton at age 14, earning her double masters at age 15, and earning her double doctorate at age 17. The extra year gap was due to covid, which caused her to take a mandatory year off.
Due to graduating during the tail end of the Covid-19 plandemic, Dr. Karatsuba struggled to find work in her field, eventually settling on a job teaching science at her old Alma Mater, East New Auburn High, where she eventually would become Tim's 11th and 12th grade science teacher. What's funny is that, despite her unusual upbringing, she's not even in the top 3 weirdest science teachers at ENAHS, since she actually takes her teaching job rather seriously.

Trivia
- Dr. Karatsuba, as is typical of Russian immigrant families, grew up extremely impoverished. This is why her parents heavily supported her accelerated education, doing whatever they could to ensure she could get a scholarship to an elite university.
- She is the second cousin of Lauren Edwards on her mom's side, and this relation is why the Edwards family financially supports her experiments. That and because David is always morbidly curious to see what she comes up with.
- Because of her accelerated education, Dr. Karatsuba never really socialized all that much in her youth, causing her to be very behind socially until her 20s. Unlike David and Tim, this (most likely) isn't due to any underlying mental condition.
- Dr. Karatsuba is a hopeless romantic, longing endlessly for a husband, however her strange personality and offputting experiments drive most male suitors away.
